So I just watched Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. Man, this one reminded me of Justice League: New Frontier. It is based on a graphic novel that I never read and set in the Victorian Era. There is common characters from the Batman DC world but it has different spin on them. The story is Batman trying to solve the case of Jack the Ripper. What I loved about this film is the pace of the story and was gritty and grounded. Very well done. It continues to amaze me how good the DC animated films are and how poor the live action ones are. This is a strong stand alone story and maybe it would confuse the casual fan but the story and theme made this wonderful. I recommend watching this one soon!
