As promised I have revamped the XP table over the holiday. It can be found here:

That should be viewable to everyone as it is in the Google Sheets format.
And a PDF if you prefer it that way:

One of the big problems was Smash was to easily acquired so I have moved it around in the chart and made the choices a little harder, when given the option of adding or subtracting one from your roll.
I have also made it a requirement that you must fill out these sheets in order for you character, MC, or vehicle to advance. Now ONLY characters, MCs and vehicles will gain XP but they can do so multiple times (similar to the old Mordheim advancement system). Each successive advancement will require more experience.
Experience will be gained by:
Unique models and Lords of War will not gain XP. They are just too awesome already and their stories have been told already. This is about forging new narratives. These models will have to roll on the Wound table if they are removed as casualties or break and run off the table.
The Wound table is left unchanged this season. Any character, MC or vehicle model that has been removed as a casualty or has run off the table edge for broken morale must roll on the wound chart. The results apply for the next battle only whether or not the model attends. However if the model is the leader of a unit that unit can only attend the battle if it does.
If you see any glaring holes or ways I might improve this before we get going, please say so below!

Experience will be gained by:
- Surviving the battle - 1 XP. The model must be on the table at the end of the game in order to receive this XP. Being removed as a casualty or in reserves will not count; being in a transport will.
- Wiping Out a Unit - 1 XP. If the model (or the unit the model has joined) wipes out a unit it gets 1 XP. Only one model may gain XP per wipe out. Example, A Space Marine Librarian has joined a tactical squad with a veteran sergeant. The tac squad destroys an ork truck in the shooting phase. Either the Librarian or sergeant may gain an XP not both.
- Scoring VP - 1 XP. Each time a unit scores Victory Points, all characters that helped will gain 1 XP. Example, the same Tac Squad plus Librarian have been joined by a dreadnaught in an assault against the Orkish Warboss, the opposing side's Warlord. The dice gods are in their favor and they best the warlord. This is a Maelstrom of War mission and Kingslayer was achieved and 3 VP are rolled as the result. These units just scored a total of 4 VP. The Librarian, Sergeant and Dreadnaught all get 1 XP each. The same would be true if Kingslayer were pulled and scored on a later turn, as that was still one instance of scoring, just recorded at separate times.
- Mission Specific Objectives - varies, I intend to tailor the scenarios as needed. Some may have extra ways to gain XP, especially if some armies are falling behind XP-wise.
