So this game is featured on the Weekender on Beasts of War. I had to back this game. Not only do I love Greek Mythology but these figures are just gorgeous. They are so cool on every level of unit types for this game. They also have a very neat D6 system mechanic which puts some strategy into your play. Very worth checking out as the replay ability is very high with this one and they are crushing perk stretches.

This game seriously interested me too. Have you watched the demo game video? The play-through of the game was pretty neat showing the dynamics and strategies that can be used.

Yes, I did. The selling point were of course the minis and I didn't realize they were going to add so many more new models to the Kickstarter pledge. Hermes was just added recently and the Argonauts. They also planned to do new maps with special rules to follow in expansions so that told me the company wants to keep it going. The mechanics of the D6 was different and that appeals to me. I didn't want a game that was throwing a bunch of D6's looking for 5's. The strategy of either building to the hit number or rolling exploding 5's for the target puts some risk in the system. Also the draft of forces not only is there no real sides to an army but it makes combinations of forces pretty endless.
Card activation also controls some of the maneuvering so you have to plan out your moves and attacks based on your hand. I think this has a lot of fun value to it and the tracking of damage on the units card is simple too. I like as they are damaged they are less effective. Oh did I mention units like Hercules can toss terrain. How cool is that!!

And it's interesting that during the re-roll of exploding 5's it's possible to roll blanks and choke off those potential successes. Bringing out the possibility that your choice of re-rolling could go against you. Have you seen the Atlas Titan figure? A Spartan only comes up to its knee. And it's half again taller than Ares!
