Gen Con: Fantasy Flight during a interview with Team Convent the new designers revealed a new faction "The Scum". The will borrow ships from both factions and have low pilot skills but are designed to be tricky. Exciting!

These are probably the mercenaries and pirate warbands from the books that cobble together salvaged and stolen ship parts to harass and plunder the shipping lanes.
These are the guys that made the "Uglies" famous. Ships made from x-wing hulls and TIE solar panels, custom made 'hot rods' that are barely held together with duct tape and bailing wire but highly maneuverable or surprisingly heavily armed.
Sounds cool. Maybe it will be a "weenie army". A horde of one-trick specialists, that can be coordinated to be powerful.

The FF booth didn't have any two ships taped together. It did have a Y-wing and Z-95 Headhunter from the rebels. They said a new Firespray add on will be available to making a better Boba Fett. There inherit weakness low pilot skills but actions that disrupt opponents will be their boon.

You can see the pre orders on miniature market. There is a 3 ship starter then 3 single ship releases. They look great and might be what gets me in x-wing after all this time.

The option to finally add another faction just shows how strong this game is. I'm super excited to see these guys in play. With all the Batreps I've done with X-wing just adding these ships really opens the campaign door we are looking to do with the Studio. Who is going to be Scum of X-wing?

I know. And I'm sure I'll play a game or two at some point. But the real risk is getting sucked into the game and thinking about it more than classwork. I think I'll just focus on Dreadball, Dust, Infinity and Wolsung for now. If you can call working with four games 'focused'.  |
