So here is a post from Mantic manticblog.com/2016/06/10/dreadball-goes-close-season/
Here is the question to you guys after reading that article. Do we want to support another Kickstarter from Mantic Games. I don't know the value of the promoted revised edition. We also could support but see if the 2.0 edition gets to our Hobby Store. There might be a chance to support it with the Retail Pledge since most companies are leaning that way.
The good news is stated no team is gone from the newer edition and they are to be more balanced.
Bad news are the changes possible to board, tokens, cards, dice, etc from what we already own. All the extra books are also irrelevant too.
Why am I asking, for One Mantic doesn't seem to be as widespread known or popular with other games beside Kings of War apparently due to supply issues. By conducting business almost exclusively through Kickstarter and their own website, gamers of our community play other games. Also Blood Bowl is due for a re-release as well.

I like the game alot and would invest into it if it was available to retailers. Only being able to get stuff from on-line makes it alot less appealing to hobby stores to support a game.
The idea that they are looking to do a Kickstarter for this worries me. It means they already have a hard time operating as a viable company after being in business for over 5 years. Not sure that bodes well for the ability to be widely available as a retail product.
I would say that if the Complex is interested we should support it as a Studio, but I wouldn't have high hopes for that. If you think about it from their point of view it is an investment in a company that already isn't overly to them making money.

I'm not sure it's Mantic not wanting independent hobby stores making money. They don't have stores dedicated to just Mantic. They need hobby stores. The issue is keeping money going in to stock and supply distribution. Mantic is a known commodity not just a popular one. Also the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter wasn't done well or fully delivered.

I enjoy playing my Veer-Myn team and think that the game is pretty fun. But I'm not sure about how the kickstarter will run.
If the kickstarter is run like the Walking Dead one, with a pretty high pledge price and not a whole lot of value for that money, then I wouldn't be upset by giving the whole thing a pass. Particularly since it takes so long to go from pledge manager to product-in-hand.
But whatever we decide to do, I think the best way to go about it would be in support with The Complex.

Yeah I totally understand the concerns. I'm not sure the kickstarter is indicative of them not having other viable ways, to get to market. Though if they have a brick and mortar option, I would greatly suggest we chip in and help the Complex support that.
