Yep we have another campaign in our long running fantasy world of Ellannis. Art has stepped up and is preparing the campaign to be starting at HighCastle. All character preparation needs to be run by him but as I have been helping him prepare the setting, I am very excited for his concept so make sure you plan to make it. We are starting at 1:00 PM at my house and plans should run for length to end about 9 to 10 Pm so everyone can get out early. If Art wants we could even plan to end at 7:00, depends on his preference.
Sorry we couldn't finish Matt's and I could keep getting us into fights against things that "looked evil" but the time slots don't work yet for him. I will note this time is 5 years after the campaign I ran so some historical events that were played during my run maybe effecting our lives in this one. See you then

I'm excited for this. Should we start discussing character ideas here so we don't end up with a bunch of red jacks? I plan on running a Bard. What about everyone else?

Can we postpone this 1 week? Or 2 if Dree needs it. I have a scheduling conflict that I didn't think would come up. This is the day I am going to have to celebrate my Mom's birthday. It will be right in the middle of the timetable for the game of course.

I was thinking about running a halfling rogue or scholar type. An urban kind of character, definitely not a fighter or leader type.

I plan on running a Bard. What about everyone else? I thought you had agreed to play the Tyrion leader of this particular campaign when we were talking down at The Complex.

You mean you volunteered me to be the leader. I had forgotten about that. Wouldn't you rather be entertained then wait for me to make the wrong decisions as leader?

You mean you volunteered me to be the leader. Yep. And you agreed to it at the time. I had forgotten about that. That's what I'm here for. Just another service I provide. Wouldn't you rather be entertained then wait for me to make the wrong decisions as leader? Who says your wrong decisions won't be as entertaining? Seriously, taking a turn as Chief Cat Herder in a campaign is like a rite of passage....

Nothing says the leader can't be a Tyrian Bard... Bards can be very inspiring.

I didn't' say I wouldn't do it just that I forgot. I think I'll wait on the bard though unless we establish a second in command early. You know, just in case something happens....

So what is the basic premise of this campaign? Will we be starting first level or higher, and will we be using the Elannis beta rules or do you want to use one of the D&D or Pathfinder rules?

We are going to use the Ellannis rules system and keep trying to break it. I am going to start everyone at level 2.
Ben has given me Western Ellannis to work with and flesh out. You will all be coming out of High Castle (Southwestern most city.)
As for premise I have several ideas now, to start with I'd like for Ben to give you guys a description of his vision for High Castle as he told me. After that part I will flesh things out more.
One thing I definitely want though is to put some thought into characters and have a reason for everyone to be be there. I intend to be challenging you guys with several mysteries, Intrigue and of course monsters!

I'd like to work up a character that can be kept on the fringes in case I can get the time off to play or my schedule changes enough to allow participation. Maybe a sagely informational "generally not in the field" type? Or someone who can easily come and go and not be a surprise if they show up or get sent off?
A beast master messenger might be something that could fit that. A "bonded mount" pony express type...
Or Some Librarian researcher that can go find info and report back maybe?
Either of those sound like something that could be used to explain intermittent participation?

We can work something out Matt, once I get the party settled after the first game we can talk and work something out.
