Well when D&D cancelled, Jake and I got to really throw down on a game. He played the Stormcast while I brought the Orks! Game was a quick fun affair. Jake just hammered my 2 best fighters and I admit I rolled like scrap on my attacks. Damn! He also scored easy on his objective cards because he got a great power up which allowed one of his Stormcast to deal 4 damage. I enjoy this game and the boys still love playing as well!

Shadespire has really opened up some choices of play. I just got the Fireslayers and Skaven. That gives 6 choices of races to play and doesn't include deck building. I got a competitive game in a couple of weeks ago with my Sepurchal Guard against Orruks. I was pleased at the different play style. Also seems this game is continuing to pick up popularity.

From everything that I've seen, it does look like it is really well put together game. Lots of factions with individual play styles, simple base rules and plenty of deeper game play options.

They do look like they'd have a fun play style, but the figs look like more like naked mole rats than actual skaven. I'd be curious about trying out the Orruks and the Fyreslayers too, they seem like they could be a lot of fun if run right.
