So I just received this after Kickstartering it if you hadn't seen we did this from the webpage. I broke it open and played a lot of it through one player mode. It can play up to 5. My first player experience was fun, challenging, and rough. Very difficult to beat the books with just three characters and six cards. I got past Storm Front after 4 plays and it took nearly 12 to beat Fool Moon. It has four varied cards from Cases, Foes, Obstacles and Advantages. The cards you draw allow you to effect those card types so you could draw cards and not be able to get past enough of one type. It happens mostly to cases and foes because there are more of them. Characters have a talent they can mostly always use and a one time only stunt. They have various effects. You win by having more cases solved than Foes remaining and if you run out of options on the board, you go to a showdown and roll fate dice to try and complete either the case or defeat the foe. That doesn't happen often.
The guys came over today and we did a 5 player game. We got past Storm Front but lost to Fool Moon. It was pretty close just not enough cases solved.
Its pretty fun and really felt like it keeps every player involved and making their own choices for the help to the group. I like this game and once we got going it's mechanics were easy to understand more and we played a lot quicker. I recommend this game if you enjoy co-op games and the fact it has a solo version. If you are a Dresden Files fan you must own this. It is so worth it and it got me to look up the books being read on YouTube.
